A Cold Rainy Winter

Some days cold, bitter cold rain blows in sideways.
My umbrella is not much use.
The wind howls, as leaves scatter a cross
the ground.
Puddles splash up my legs.
Watch out, wrap up, hurry now
the soup is on.
Sitting in a favorite chair, a hot cup of tea in hand.
Watching out the window, puddles forming everywhere.
The day is cold but the blanket
is warm.
Read a book or watch the rain.
Either makes a glorious day.
Must we go to work today?
Everyone should go home to stay.
Don't get out, stay inside.
Curl up in bed.
Stay wrapped up tight.
Hear the rain all through the night
The fire is hot and cozy.
In this rainy wintertime.
