Dark speckled limbs against a cloudless background.

The naked trees stand tall all around.

Thousands of fingers waving about from big arms

all reaching up to the sky.

Soft green moss covers their feet.

 

Little drops of water hanging there.

All from this mornings rain.

Touch the rough bark.

Rub your hand over it well.

Feel the trees tough skin.

 

See the holes where a woodpecker visited last year.

There is a nest in the top left side,

that you never knew was there.

 

Breath deep

take in it's earthy scent.

Enjoy them while you can,

soon they will be all covered.

 

No leaves upon their branches, the Autumn carried

them away.

Stop a moment, take a look at the

lovely naked trees.
